L’ invasion de la Russie et la mise en esclavage des sous-hommes slaves constituaient le coeur du projet politique nazi. La Russie constituait "l’espace vital " nécessaire au peuple aryen allemand .
Il est certain que les Russes n ’allaient pas rester bras croisés et qu’ils avaient prévu d’éliminer la menace nazie.
Mais l’armée russe n’était pas prête pour
l’attaque en 1941 et l’effort de guerre soviétique a justement été décuplé à partir de l’attaque allemande.
